Something Sweet...

Natures candy...simply sweet

What's sweeter then a fresh piece of fruit that's been left to ripen to perfection...

When I came across the challenge over at Stuck on u Sketches and saw that it was for "Something" sweet, I automatically thought of fruit.  To me, nothing comes close to the sweetness of a perfectly ripe piece of fruit...of any kind...especially when homegrown!

So, with this in mind I set out to create a card that showed what I consider "something" sweet.  I hope you like it.

Simply sweet!

For this card I used the following cartridges and measurements.  Preserves-pear #3 (pg26), cut at 2 3/4", melon #2 (pg41), cut at 3 3/4", melon #3 (pg42), cut at 1 1/4", blueberry #1 (pg50), cut at 2", and raspberry (pg56), cut at 1 1/4".  Plantin School Book-sweet, cut at 3/4" and Graphically Speaking-phrase/simply (pg49), cut at 3/4".

This card is 5"x 7"...the first layer (green) is cut at 4 1/4"x 6 1/4", the second layer (orange) is cut at 4"x 6" and the third layer (brown) is cut at 3 1/2"x 5 1/2".

The little extras...I couldn't really find the right colors of paper for some of the fruit and resorted to using my Copics to get the colors I wanted...For the raspberries I used G-85, V-93 and RV-34...then for the cantaloupe vine and blueberries I used V-15, 17 and E-15.  I also used 1/8" and 1/4" pop dots to give the card some depth and dimension.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.  Kathie

  1. Love it! Fruits are my favorite sweet, next to chocolate. But if you dip fruit in chocolate, perfect. lol I love the cuts you used. Fabulous card.

    1. Thank you Helen! I know it's not what most people think of as "sweets" around Valentine's Day, so wasn't sure how it would go over...but I'm truly glad you like it. Kathie
