Dreaming of Spring

Koi and water lilies

With all of the sub zero and freezing temperatures, along with lots of snow and ice, my thoughts turn to my flower beds and water garden...I can't help but daydream about warmer weather, flowers blooming and watching my Koi enjoy their awakening from a long cold slumber.

What better to do then to make a card!  So when I sat down to create this card, I was truly inspired by my pond and the Koi that call it home. I'll be entering this card into the challenge over at Crafts 4 Eternity,...for their Oriental theme.  If you have some time on your hands and are looking for a fun challenge, maybe you could head on over and enter...it's not to late.  Now for my card...I hope you like it.

Dreamin' of warmer days

For this card I used the following cartridge and measurements.  Art Nouveau-water lily #2 (pg37), cut at 3" and Koi (pg59), also cut at 3".

This card is a 5"x7 1/2"...the first layer (dark brown) is cut at 4 3/4"x7 1/4", layer two (green) is cut at 4 1/2"x7" and the third layer (blue) is cut at 3"x5".

For this card all image pieces were cut using white cardstock and colored with the following Copic markers.  To color the Koi-Y35, Y38 and W7...for the water lily-R20, R22, G82 and G85.

I decided to use Copic markers instead of colored cardstock for this card, to give it more of a flowing water color feel...I'm pleased with the results and hope you find it pleasing also.

Thanks for stopping by and having a look.  Kathie
