1950's Retro
The other day, my son sent me some pictures of a 1953 Coke machine that he bought and rewired to use in his home...and told me this inspired him and his wife to design their kitchen in 50's Retro. I don't know about you, but I love this style (even though it was before my time) and with all this talk of the 50's...Well, I just had to create a card.
I didn't have any intentions of entering this card in a challenge, but while I was browsing the internet I came across a new blog (to me) that had an active challenge theme of " 20th Century"! You can create a project that is inspired by 20th century styles, a particular era or even a fond memory...the choices are endless. So, if there is something that stands out to you, take some time and join in the fun over at the Craft-room challenge.
Now for my card. I hope you like it.
Coffee's On
For this card I used the following cartridge and measurements. Suburbia-Vera (pg39), cut at 5 1/2", coffee pot (pg33), cut at 1", stove (pg50), cut at 3 3/4", Goddess (pg77), cut at 1/2" and domestic (pg82), cut at 3/4".
This card is 5"x 7"...Cherry patterned paper is cut at 4"x 4 7/8", Maroon paper is cut at 3 1/8"x 4 7/8" and is scored at every 1/8". The Hunter Green strip is cut at 3/8"x 4 7/8 and the Brown strip is cut at 1/4"x 4 7/8".
For the little extras...I used Glossy Accents for the oven door to give it the look of glass and I placed pop dots on the upper have of the female image to give a little depth.
Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Kathie
